Challenge
Wexl Trails in St. Corona am Wechsel are among Austria’s most popular biking destinations. The lift track is exposed to heavy stress every day – with high rider traffic, changing weather conditions, and the constant risk of soil erosion. To ensure both safety and long-term durability, a particularly robust solution was required.

Solution
The operators chose Terra-Grid E®35. In total, around 900 m² were installed along the lift track, providing lasting reinforcement and stability.

Benefits
With Terra-Grid E®35, Wexl Trails benefit from a modular system that allows the width of the lift track to be flexibly adapted to local conditions. The construction provides maximum stability and reliably prevents both rutting and erosion. The result is an even and secure surface that makes lift operation both safer and more comfortable.

At the same time, Terra-Grid E®35 is characterized by quick installation, minimal maintenance requirements, and long-lasting quality that blends harmoniously into the natural environment. The result is a sustainable solution that creates long-term value for both operators and visitors.

Result
Wexl Trails now has a reinforced and individually adapted lift track that combines safety, comfort, and sustainability. The project clearly demonstrates that Terra-Grid E®35 is also the ideal solution for bike parks looking to future-proof their infrastructure.

This impressive project features the installation of over 1,100 meters in length and 15 meters in width of grass grid panels by a professional team in Zwickau. The video highlights the efficient, large-scale deployment of ground protection mats designed for heavy-duty use.

Purpose & Application
Objective: Ground stabilization with permeability to support heavy loads without sealing the surface.

Applications: Parking areas, access roads, storage zones, or green surfaces with frequent machine traffic

Execution & Technical Setup
Installation Depth: Precisely placed within leveled corridors for optimal performance

Process: Mechanized and systematic installation by a skilled crew ensures uniformity and time efficiency

Adaptation: Surface and subsoil preparation tailored to site and weather conditions

Key Benefits
Durable ground reinforcement – load-bearing, permeable, and reliable

Visually appealing & low maintenance – allows grass to grow through for a natural look

Eco-friendly – promotes drainage and prevents soil sealing

Conclusion
A strong example of high-volume grass grid installation: technically sound, visually neat, and functionally sustainable. The reel clearly showcases how large surfaces can be effectively secured and reinforced in a short time by a qualified team.

The images show multiple DAN-Boards being used to evenly distribute the weight of the lifting platform while protecting the delicate church tiles. These boards ensure both stability and protection for the flooring.

The lifting platform is used for tasks at significant heights, including maintenance or cleaning of paintings, statues, and chandeliers. Repairs and inspections were also carried out in areas such as the ceiling and the altar.

The project achieved safe access to hard-to-reach areas of the church without the need for scaffolding. By carefully preparing and protecting the floor surfaces, the historical character of the building was preserved.

Overall, this case highlights a well-thought-out, gentle, and professional approach to carrying out work in a sensitive historical structure using DAN-Boards.

As part of an urban infill project behind two listed residential buildings, a courtyard with access roads and parking areas was newly constructed. The 450 m² access surface was built using eco-pavers that allow rainwater to naturally infiltrate through open joints.

Instead of the originally specified concrete grass reinforcement blocks, RC40 was chosen for the parking areas – a choice with clear advantages:

RC40 is approximately 50% more cost-effective, faster to install, and made from recycled material – benefiting the budget, construction time, and the environment alike.

Despite strict municipal requirements, particularly due to the site’s heritage status, a sustainable and economical solution was successfully implemented.

The mobility provider Swissbility was looking for a quickly realisable, cost-efficient and environmentally friendly solution to create space for 250 cars on a green area in Switzerland in the medium term (5 years). A total of 4,480 m² of Terra-Grid E®35 was required.

As the previous car park was no longer required, a temporary alternative was to be installed that could be ready for use within a few days, required minimal earthworks, allowed water to seep away completely and could be removed without leaving any residue after five years.

The use of E35 proves to be an excellent answer to Swissbility’s requirements: An investment volume of up to 60% below the level of conventional asphalt or concrete pavements, coupled with a module-based construction method, enables a significant reduction in construction times and flexible adaptation to changing capacity requirements.

The outstanding water permeability largely reduces the need for complex drainage systems and simplifies official approval procedures. At the same time, the 100% recyclability of the material ensures an exemplary ecological footprint.

Overall, Terra-Grid E®35 offers a low-maintenance, reversible and sustainable solution that harmonises economic efficiency and environmental protection.
