Terra-Grid E® 35 at Wexl Trails in Austria
At Wexl Trails in St. Corona am Wechsel, Austria, nature provides the setting for all activities. Mountain bike trails, forests and hilly terrain attract experienced riders, beginners and children alike – placing considerable demands on the areas that are used repeatedly as part of daily operations.
One of these areas is the track alongside the lift. Here, Wexl Trails needed a solution that could provide a more stable surface and withstand the continuous wear and changing weather conditions associated with an outdoor sports area.
The solution was Terra-Grid E® 35.
A surface designed to work with the terrain
Approximately 900 m² of Terra-Grid E® 35 was installed along the lift track. The aim was to stabilise the surface and reduce problems with rutting and erosion.
The modular system made it possible to follow the contours of the terrain and adapt the width to the conditions along different sections of the track. At the same time, Terra-Grid E® 35 provides a stable surface capable of handling the repeated loads of daily use.
In the video, stability is highlighted as an important part of the solution. This is particularly relevant in an area such as Wexl Trails, where many different users need to be able to move through the terrain – including many beginners and children.
When operations and surroundings need to work together

By stabilising high-use areas, Terra-Grid can help retain the surface material and reduce the need for ongoing repairs.

Flexibility for changing outdoor conditions

Terra-Grid E® 35 is easy to install and can be removed again when required. This makes it possible to stabilise areas where the need arises without necessarily establishing a permanent, conventional surface.
For Wexl Trails, the combination of stability and flexibility means that the lift track can function as an integral part of the area while following the existing terrain.

The result is a stable and durable track where the risk of erosion and rutting is reduced, potentially reducing the need for maintenance as well.
