New canteen provides a better working environment for employees

DANREC’s growth is evident not only in production and order intake. The number of employees has also increased, creating a need for more space.

The previous dining area had become too small for everyone to eat together. At the same time, the company needed more office space, making it necessary to use the existing facilities more efficiently.

_ “We had reached a point where we simply could no longer sit and eat together. At the same time, we were also beginning to run out of office space,” explains CEO Henrik Immerkær Ohm.

The new canteen provides employees with a shared space where they can eat and take a break, while the former dining area has been converted into additional office workstations.

A workplace in development

The new canteen is part of DANREC’s ongoing efforts to improve its facilities. Over the past few years, areas have been cleared, painted and renovated, and additional workstations have been established as the company has grown.

For Henrik Immerkær Ohm, these improvements are not simply about gaining more space. The physical surroundings also affect employees’ everyday working lives and well-being.

_ “We spend a large part of our lives at work. That is why it is important to create a place where people feel comfortable and enjoy spending their time,” he says.

Medarbejderne i produktionen, på lageret, i salget og på kontoret har ikke nødvendigvis de samme behov. Men muligheden for at mødes omkring frokosten giver et fælles samlingspunkt på tværs af arbejdsområder.

_ “When people are happy with their workplace and the work they do, it has a positive effect on everything they do. We need to develop the company, but we might as well do so in a responsible and positive way,” , siger Henrik.

The new canteen is therefore both a practical solution to a specific lack of space and an investment in the shared environment surrounding the working day.

The new canteen provides a welcoming setting for both everyday meals and special occasions. Recently, traditional Danish open sandwiches were served to celebrate CEO Henrik Immerkær Ohm’s fifth anniversary with DANREC.
